Pioneer Insurance PLC Clinches Top Award at the Insurance Inclusive Innovation Challenge 2026 Dhaka, 28 July 2026 — Pioneer Insurance PLC has proudly been named a winner of the Insurance Inclusive Innovation Challenge (IIC) 2026, jointly organized by SME Foundation and UNDP Bangladesh. The Company received a grant of Tk. 45.18 lakh at the Award Ceremony held at Shoilopropat Hall, Parjatan Bhaban, Agargaon, Dhaka.

Pioneer Insurance earned this prestigious recognition for its innovative, technology-driven, and gender-responsive insurance solution designed to protect Cottage, Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (CMSMEs) from climate and operational risks.

The award-winning initiative will provide tailored insurance coverage to 15,000 CMSME entrepreneurs four (4) leading MFIs as distribution and financing partners, strategic partnerships KMD as technical and reinsurance partner, Softograph. our technology partner, Each institution contributes a complementary capability required to deliver the solution effectively and at scale

The Award Ceremony was chaired by Anwar Hossain Chowdhury, Managing Director of SME Foundation, Mr. Sardar M. Asaduzzaman, Assistant Resident Representative, UNDP Bangladesh , Mr. Chowdhury Liakat Ali, Director, Sustainable Finance Department, Bangladesh Bank, Ms. Monira Begum, Executive Director (Non-Life), Insurance Development & Regulatory Authority (IDRA), Mr. Abdun Naser Khan, Secretary, Ministry of Industries and Chairman, SME Foundation also attended by senior officials from UNDP Bangladesh, insurance companies, financial institutions, policymakers, development partners, Insurtech, Media wing, CMSME client.
